We show that the Ree-Tits unitals are neither classical nor isomorphic to the polar unitals found in the Coulter-Matthews planes. To this end, we determine the full automorphism groups of the (finite) Ree unitals.

We show that these products form a large class of Banach algebras which contains all module extensions and triangular Banach algebras. Then we consider spectrum, Arens regularity, amenability and weak amenability of these products.

In this paper we describe the structure of all sequential isomorphisms between the sets of von Neumann algebra effects. It turns out that if the underlying algebras have no commutative direct summands, then every sequential isomorphism between the sets of their effects extends to the direct sum of a *-isomorphism and a *-antiisomorphism between the underlying von Neumann algebras.
